Malcom is a physicist with an MBA and over twenty years of experience in business and finance. He has held board and senior executive positions in several small and medium-sized high technology companies and has raised capital to support commercialisation of new technologies for international markets. Previously he was a physicist and oceanographer with the CSIRO.
His skills in management, marketing, and finance, have been demonstrated in a variety of settings: business, politics, and science.
Dr Timothy Finnigan
BASc, MASc, PhD, CPEng
Managing Director
Dr Finnigan is the founder of BioPower Systems. He has been involved in ocean engineering for 17 years, the last nine of which have been focused on ocean power conversion. From 2000-2005 he was the Technical Director of Energetech Australia (now called Oceanlinx Ltd). Prior to this, Dr Finnigan was involved in research and technology commercialisation in both academic and industry positions in the US, Canada and Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Physics, a Masters degree in Environmental Fluid Mechanics, and a PhD in Marine Engineering.
William Highland

Bill is an investment manager with CVC Investment Managers Limited. He has extensive general management experience across the full business life-cycle.
This encompasses start-ups in Australia, USA and China, acquisitions and joint ventures, revitalisations and turn around assignments, restructuring in Australia/NZ and Europe, and multinational divestments during his time with OPSM, BTR Nylex, Boral and the CVC Group. Additionally, Bill has served as a Director and Chairman on both public and private companies, plus joint venture boards.
Michael Riley

Michael has the role of Director, Venture Capital, at Lend Lease Ventures. He is responsible for investment activities in opportunities generated from outside the Lend Lease group of companies. Before joining Lend Lease Ventures, Michael ran a corporate advisory and investment company in Australia. He was also a partner in the Strategy group of Accenture in London, where he gained many years of business strategy development, M&A, and operational improvement experience. He has Bachelor and Masters Degrees in science from the University of Western Australia and an MBA from London Business School.
